Let’s create clarity so you have confidence in where you’re going and clarity on how to get there.
I’ve been hearing a lot of reasons people ✌️don’t need✌️ strategies and I wanna talk about ‘em! Here’s the 3rd one. If you’re keeping track, here’s the others:
“We’re not ready yet”
“Strategies only help if things are going as expected.”
3. It’s going to be too complicated
tl;dr on why it doesn’t hold up: As a friend told me recently, any amateur can make things complicated. You get an expert so they can make it simple.
the details: This one is a close cousin to last week’s and it shows up in lots of different forms. Thoughts like: “I’m tired of hearing more opinions.”, “We’ve already done a lot of research”, “I don’t have capacity to pay attention to all those details”….you get the idea.
So why are we afraid of complicated? BECAUSE WHO HAS THE TIME?! WHO HAS THE BRAIN SPACE??? Not you! And I don’t want you to! Because your energy is far better spent adding your shiny magic to the world. Creating. Leading folks. Solving Problems. Not juggling complex, heady plans or keeping track of random details.
Like we said last week, a strategy should be there to serve you in the pivotal moments. When you’re clear you’re already clear. Strategy should give you direction when things get jumbled, not make things more cloudy. A more complicated set of plans doesn’t make a better strategy. Most of us can complicate things on our own. The best strategy, and the most helpful strategic guides, cut through the clutter of ideas to make things simple.
When the question on the table is “What does growth mean?” or “How do we get there?”, the last thing you need is more noise, more details, more variables. This is exactly why I’ve designed my entire process to orient simply around one thing - vision. I really couldn’t be less interested in throwing one more opinion in the ring. What I do want to do? Pull the ruthlessly honest, totally authentic truth out of you; do some thinking together to understand what’s aligned with that (and what’s not); and then leave you with simplicity and clarity so you know what growth looks like and how to execute it. Not more hot takes - just a better handle on how all those ideas floating around work together.
If this is something you need, book a clarity workshop (for creatives, entrepreneurs, & early stage founders) or a growth diagnostic (for established organizations). I have 11 spots left this year. I’m eager to fill them and to start booking up my project spots for next year so I’m offering a 25% discount on all services through November 15th Christmas! (Use code fall25)

Cheering for you,

I’m Laura Green - a strategist empowering creative leaders to build businesses they love. My work focuses providing you actionable insights and customized strategies to find more impact and less friction. I want you to have the clarity, confidence, and energy to make good stuff happen, to drive profit, and to get back to doing the work you love. As for me - I love charts, good beer, nerdy nature books, and sneakers. When I’m not spinning up spreadsheets, you can find me gardening, hanging with my wonderfully wild kids, or sneaking in a nap. ✌️
